Over the past 30 years, Public Opinion Research has completed well over a thousand projects for hundreds of clients. Some of the main categories of clients are outlined below.

Political Candidates and Elected Officials

In its earliest days, the company conducted political surveys for Members of the US Congress. It developed a constituent survey program and tabulation service that was so successful, the US House of Representatives duplicated it as an in-house service.

In 1979, the company created its initial relationship with the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, doing thirty different campaigns around the state in partnership with the party. This relationship, in various forms has lasted since that time. Public Opinion Research continues to do twenty to thirty campaigns a year for the NJDSC.

Now, thirty years later, the company has completed over a thousand political projects 12 states. Along the way, the company has also done significant volumes of work for various interest groups including public health initiatives in Maine, the teachers in Maryland, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and the trial attorneys in Louisiana and Tennessee.

Commercial Projects

In the mid 1980's Public Opinion Research began taking on commercial clients. For many years the company did demographic and market surveys for Continuing Care Retirement Communities and other health care entities, including the Johns Hopkins Health Care Companies in partnership with EMA Management, a consultant company in central Maryland. The relationship continued until EMA dissolved in 1997.

The company began conducting market surveys for banking institutions in the 1990's and did annual surveys for four banks.

Another relationship with Landmark Press brought Public Opinion Research into the publishing field in the late 1990's. The company continues to do projects for various publications in this chain.

Beyond these larger projects, Public Opinion Research has completed many market surveys for a variety of other types companies as diverse as security firms, medical professionals, and regional oil companies.

Government

Public Opinion Research did its first government funded project in 1985 for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, a study of consumer habits that related to pollution of the environment.

For the past 15 years, the company has done many projects for transportation agencies in New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Some of these public habit and perception studies were conducted for transportation management associations. Others were done directly for state departments of transportation or in conjunction with engineering firms.

Private and Semi Private Clubs and Communities

In 1985, Public Opinion Research began doing work in the private club industry. Since that time the company has done membership surveys for over 100 private and semi private clubs and communities in 22 states.
