Donald H. Herche is president of Public Opinion Research, Inc., a survey research company with offices in suburban Baltimore, Maryland. He serves as the firm's chief analyst and as a consultant to business, government, and national associations.

Founded in 1976, Public Opinion Research, Inc. has provided continuous service to a diversified clientele of corporations, professional associations, government agencies, and public officials.

Donald H. Herche began his career as a staff aide to then-U.S. Representative Helen S. Meyner. Mr. Herche's first association with the Meyner family came in 1972 during Mrs. Meyner's first campaign for Congress. Helen Meyner was the wife of the former Governor of New Jersey, Robert B. Meyner, now both deceased.

Helen Meyner was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1974 and shortly thereafter Mr. Herche joined her Washington staff. Mr. Herche's primary responsibilities with the Meyner organization revolved around communicating the Congresswoman's positions to the voters on a massive scale. Mr. Herche holds a degree in political science from Drew University and was well trained in the use of survey research. During her campaign for re-election, he became a part of the team that put together the polling program to help guide the organization's actions.

After the Congresswoman's re-election, Mr. Herche founded Public Opinion Research to provide survey services to business, government, and private interests. The firm's reputation for accurate analysis and strong service grew while it continued to expand its services and client base across the United States.

Mr. Herche's expertise in survey research has been widely recognized including serving as a guest lecturer in the Master's programs at Kent State University, and the Eagleton Institute at Rutgers as well as in undergraduate programs at Drew University, George Washington University, and Randolph Macon.

Donald Herche's family have been business owners in Maryland for over 75 years. While pursuing his education, he worked for the family business for seven years. This experience has enabled him to guide Public Opinion Research, Inc. through its initial years to a respected position within the research community.
